1. Who we are

Ezi Market Inc. (the “Company”, “we”, “us”) operates ezimarket.ca, an online marketplace based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We are subject to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25), and applicable provincial privacy laws.

2. Personal information we collect

• Account information: name, email, mobile number, postal code, profile photo.
• Listing data: photos, descriptions, prices, condition, and pickup/shipping location.
• Communications: in-platform messages between users.
• Device and usage data: IP, device type, pages visited, searches, clicks.
• Consent records: every opt-in and opt-out is logged in an immutable consent ledger.

3. Purposes of collection

We use your information to: (a) operate and improve the marketplace, (b) connect buyers and sellers, (c) prevent fraud and abuse, (d) comply with our legal obligations, and (e) — only with your express opt-in — send marketing communications and personalize your experience.

4. Your CASL rights (commercial electronic messages)

We will not send commercial emails or SMS without your express consent. Every marketing message includes our identity, mailing address, and a one-click unsubscribe link. You can withdraw consent at any time from your Privacy Center.

5. Your PIPEDA rights

• Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion (subject to retention obligations).
• Object to or restrict certain uses of your data.
• File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

All requests are answered within 30 days. Use the Privacy Center or email privacy@ezimarket.ca.

6. Cross-border data transfers

Our infrastructure is hosted in Canada. Where a service provider operates outside Canada, we apply contractual safeguards consistent with PIPEDA Principle 4.1.3.

7. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes set out above. Detailed retention windows are published in our Cookie & Retention notice and enforced by an automated retention sweep.

8. Security and breach response

We use encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and intrusion detection. In the event of a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by PIPEDA.

9. Children

Ezi Market is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
